Anavar (Oxandrolone) was introduced in 1964 in America and quickly rose as one of the most well-known and popular oral steroids currently in use. Oxandrolone is a DHT-based steroid that has had its molecular structure somewhat altered which transformed it into an oral C17 Alpha Alkylated with increased anabolic activity. Oxandrolone is a very weak androgen but it has a very high anabolic to androgenic ratio.

Oxandrolone is one of the few anabolic steroids that does not cause premature growth plate closure, its medical application being for the treatment of osteoporosis and to stimulate development in children. Oxandrolone generally does not cause virilization (secondary male sex characteristics) in women when used in relatively low doses. (For women this translates to less than 20 mg per day.

Bodybuilder, power lifter, weight lifters and MMA fighters love Anavar Oxandrolone because it creates a great increase in strength with minimal water retention. This particular trait is beneficial for speed and strength athletes, as it allows them to stay close to their respective weight class. The increase in strength comes partly from the increase in phosphocreatine synthesis and partly from the increase in the number of myofibrils without additional water volume. This effect is particularly beneficial for weight-classified athletes as it allows for increased performance with little corresponding weight gain.

Oxandrolone is also known for decreasing appetites which makes it an ideal choice for ketogenic diets, low carb diets and pre-contest prep. Of further interest to athletes, is that Anavar has been shown to influence lipolysis to a greater extent than most other anabolic steroids. It binds to androgen receptors, it reduces thyroid globulin binding, it increases T3 hormone utilization and it increases red blood cell production which has a direct effect on whole body oxygenation.

Dosage

Oxandrolone in USA can decrease endogenous testosterone production with moderate doses of up to 50mg, however, doses over 60mg per day can have a profound suppressive effect on Leydig cells in tests and research has shown that the decrease in the aforementioned testosterone level Can reach 67%. As a side note, suppressive effects are absent from sperm volume and count.

Oxandrolone may have a masculinizing effect on female athletes at doses of approximately 30 milligrams per day and women 5-50 mg per day.

Interactions with other medicinal products in USA

Some favorite combinations with Oxandrolone include Halotestin which causes an extra increase in strength, definition and hardness, Clenbuterol which causes extra muscularity, Parabolon which causes extra muscle strength and hardness, as well as the well known Winstrol for the increase in overall musculature. If Oxandrolone is to be used in a "stacking cycle" with other strongly aromatizing steroids, an anti-estrogen should be added.
