X-TANE – It contains 'Exemestane' Drugs/Molecules. It is a type of hormone treatment and belongs to the class of aromatase inhibitors. It is used to treat breast cancer in women who have gone through menopause. Postmenopausal estrogen is mainly produced by the modification of androgens (sex hormones produced by the adrenal glands) into estrogen. This process is called aromatization and occurs primarily in fatty tissue, muscle, and skin. It needs a special enzyme called aromatase. Exemestane blocks the aromatization process. Thus it lowers the amount of estrogen in the body.
