Anazole (Arimidex) is a nonsteroidal medication that is used to treat breast cancer. It has been studied extensively in women with breast cancer between the 5th and 8th years of life. There are some breast cancers that depend on estrogen for their growth. Anazole (Arimidex) works by suppressing estrogen levels in the body and therefore reduces the growth of breast cancer. The drug is the first-line treatment for postmenopausal women with early breast cancer or those who have advanced breast cancer despite taking tamoxifen. Arimidex in Belgium is often combined with other drugs to treat breast cancer in post-menopausal women. The drug has been used to treat early or advanced breast cancer in women of all cultures and races.
